The Sonic Bookends design was created with the intent of recreating the image of audio waves emerging from the books they are charged with keeping upright, as though to amplify the words contained on the pages. Inspired by the environmental installations of James Turrell which combine minimal shapes and light to create serene spatial environments. The bookends feature multiple gathers of glass to stuff seperate cups of color in order to create the layers that are magnified thickness offering a deep optic quality.
